LA CLUSAZ'S CHAMPION
PROFESSIONAL MOUNTAIN BIKER / ENDURO & FREERIDE
« The best thing about La Clusaz is the sheer size of the domain. As well as the permanent slopes proposed by the resort, you can easily ride off the tracks for some all-mountain in the heart of the Aravis. There is a huge choice of circuits in La Clusaz itself and further afield for those who are seeking that little bit more and have the legs for it!! There is nowhere quite like this area with the amazing landscape combined with the opportunity to cross over several types of terrain through the trees or out in the open. La Clusaz has something for everyone in the world of MTB, accessible to all and in all disciplines, whether you are coming with friends or family, or you want to try out crosscountry trails or downhill, the choice really is up to you, there is no limit. That’s what I like about La Clusaz, not many resorts can cater to such a wide range of abilities and styles. »
As an enduro rider, I love the tracks which the Roc des Alpes La Clusaz Enduro event goes down. Accessible from the Crêt du Merle and Crêt du Loup, the trail takes you down through the trees over great loose ground. New tracks opened in 2016 and I’m a big fan of the new Jument enduro track, it’s a good fun track to start the day with! The good news is that the infamous «La Trace» line has now become official! For more speed and a completely different genre, try the permanent Beauregard track which encompasses nice straight lines, jumps and berms. The Enduro tracks are great fun and nice to ride on, the tracks brilliantly follow the natural contours of the mountain and it’s great for those who want to learn to control their speed and rhythm on tracks like these. There really is something for everyone! The experts will love the bottom part of the Encarnes run that has been carved into the slope with successive turns.
