Family fun in winter: kids and teens

Publication date 11 December 2019,
What better way to offer memories to your toddlers and teenagers than a magical stay in the mountains? Ice rink, tobogganing, sports initiations... A wide range of activities that will delight the seeds of champions and allow parents to enjoy their winter holidays.
The Christmas season is particularly favourable for the little heroes who will enjoy a magical atmosphere full of entertainment in the heart of the resort. The whole family will leave with their heads full of memories that bring them together!

➤ The wide open spaces by dog sledding or ski-joëring

Animals are unsuspected story tellers. Ski-joëring was initially practiced by farmers who combined the need to work with the pleasure of the ski horse. Dog sledding was an essential means of travel in the remote areas of the far north. Enjoy the enchanting setting of the white plateaus of La Clusaz to reconnect to these stories in the company of caring animals and to discover new sensations of skiing.

➤ From the pony sledding

5 minutes from the village of La Clusaz, you and your family can take a ride with your children on a pony back or a toboggan pulled by the pony, in a magnificent setting at the foot of the Aravis mountain range. A pony and a sled, a quiet and totally independent activity: we walk on the groomed pedestrian paths with up to three children per pony.

➤ Biathlon internship at the borders

To combine effort and precision, nothing beats biathlon! Thanks to laser equipment, biathlon is safe and environmentally friendly. For children aged 8 to 13, the ESF ski norddique de La Clusaz offers, on Wednesdays in January and February, 2 hours of discovery training for 85€ on the Confins ski area.

➤ Paret night session

What is the paret? A traditional Aravis sled with a single run. Used in the past by toddlers to get to school, La Clusaz offers you 2 hours of discovery and free skiing every week between January and April! If you come with your own parets/yooners, you can enjoy the 2 hours of night time for free. The Tourist Office lends free pasta for 45 minutes of time: from 8.30 pm to 9.15 pm or from 9.30 pm to 10.15 pm.

➤ Freestyle camp at the snowpark

Spend time at the snowpark while learning how to take off easily? This is what the ESF de La Clusaz offers. A freestyle course that will fulfill the dreams of impossible figures for 12-18 year olds for 6 sessions of 2h/day during the Christmas or February holidays. Thanks to an Air Bag-type structure, teenagers will be able to take the craziest jumps in complete safety. Not to mention the slope style and rails. Gold Star level required.

➤ The Festival of "Santa Claus' Pestacles" and its big parade

For almost 20 years, La Clusaz has been organizing its famous "Pestacles" festival, the largest street arts festival for families, held in the mountains in winter. During the week between Christmas and New Year, young and old will gather in the village for the big Christmas parade that illuminates the village with its unique magic. Throughout the week, magicians, puppeteers, storytellers, jugglers, singers, musicians, artists and dancers meet families in the centre of the village to experience unforgettable moments. Les Pestacles is a week of poetry and celebration in the land of the imagination.

➤ Entering the Escape Game gondola

Will you dare to take up the new challenge? At the top of La Clusaz, your group decides to return to the village by cable car. As you enter the Oxygen Express gondola station, a storm is approaching... It's up to you to find the solution to get out! Open every day, all year round. Difficulty: 6/10. Minimum age: 10 years.

➤ A game of bowling

With its 4 tracks that can accommodate 7 players each, 2 table football, 2 billiards, a game of darts, projections of sports events on large screens and regular events, bowling in La Clusaz is a must in case of bad weather. A friendly place par excellence, whether for a game, a drink at the bar or an aperitif, bowling is open all year round and 7 days a week in season.

➤ LCZ Family Run

Located in the Mini Loup sector, the Family Run is the resort's freestyle "apprentice" area and is especially suitable for families. Consisting of 2 courses separated by a green slope, it allows skiers and snowboarders to learn the discipline in complete safety and above all conviviality. But the Family Run is also a large picnic area accessible to all, and the mandatory passage for a selfie in front of the giant letters of "LACLUSAZ"!

The mountain, the ideal place to share

For almost 15 years, La Clusaz has been proud to bear the national label "Famille Plus", which rewards its commitment based on the quality of its services and its desire to meet the expectations of visitors. Sharing what makes sense is what everyone expects from their holidays: strong moments of sharing, emotions and memories.
