In the summer, many farmers provide the opportunity for visitors to discover life on the farm during the summer pastures. Visitors can discover the herds, milking time, the making of Reblochon and the maturing process as well as tasting authentic afternoon teas made using localproducts, to enjoy while overlooking the impressive panoramic view.

The Reblochon

Farmers in La Clusaz are proud to maintain the farming traditions, and work hard every day of the year to offer the best of their production. Discover the local products in the farms, but also at the Hameau des Alpes, surrounded by some of the most spectacular views in the region.
 

A bit of story at Le Hameau des Alpes

La Clusaz is an essential visit for anyone interested in alpine heritage. In addition to the village tours by heritage guides and farm visits, the « Hameau des Alpes » now welcomes visitors all year round just a few steps from the village along the Nom stream. They can discover a wealth of local heritage and culture in the different poles within the museum: a participative area to discover everything you need to know about Reblochon Fermier, a museum dedicated to the evolution of skiing, a communal oven, traditional lofts and a former saw mill.

Focus on… La Fête du Reblochon

Saturday 11th August

The day is packed with entertainment throughout the day from the beginning in traditional costume up to the evening meal. There is a parade through the village with themed floats and herds of animals, the milking of the cows and goats, traditional folk dancing, the donkey derby, baking of bread in the traditional communal ovens, living scenes of traditional craftsmen and women, the descent on an artificial ski slope on planks of wood, and last but certainly not least the making of Reblochon in a gigantic copper cauldron.

The Fête du reblochon is an important event that marks the immense pride of the locals have of their rich heritage, and is a great day out for all the family and friends.
